Sonic Drilling

JRDRILLING is proud to be able to bring Sonic Drilling into our portfolio, including solid operator experience. It is the cleanest, fastest, and most efficient technique to drill for environmentally sensitive, or environment monitoring projects. It drills three to five times faster, produces only a fraction of the waste, enabling us to drill with great precision and consistency. Even the rig and support equipment itself is much less intrusive than a standard rig. Equipped with wide rubber tracks, it only creates 4 psi pressure on the surface we drive and work.

These drills are great for reaching depths up to 250ft deep with 6" casing, especially in sensitive/fragile terrains. They offer faster penetration than other drilling technologies, use minimal or no fluids, and are precise, making them ideal for various applications. The patented MiniSonic head has been used in the field for more than 10 years on some of the most technical and difficult projects. This sonic head consistently performs better and offers unmatched reliability.

Mining

The LS250 MiniSonic's extremely accurate sampling of unconsolidated formations. Heap leach and tailing pad sampling, bedrock sampling, monitoring well installation, water sampling, dewatering applications, and wireline sampling are just a few examples of possible mining applications.

Environmental and Geotechnical

By continually casing the borehole and using little or no fluid, the LS250 MiniSonic eliminates the risk of cross contamination and is ideal for environmental and geotechnical work.

Infrastructure and GeoThermal

Precisely drilling straight holes at varying angles makes the LS250 MiniSonic ideal for infrastructure and geothermal projects.

Compatibility with different Substrates

Sonic is ideal in all situations and ground conditions such as gravel, sand, and clays. With our pipe ware system in place, this reduces the risk of overhead hazards with casing and drill rods being added and removed by the head and pipe arm instead of hoist plug and winch. We also have the capabilities of swapping over to a high rotary head and HQ/NQ coring through our sonic casing to continue to core through bedrock, siltstone, sand stone, mud stone and coal seams.
